U-5817 Fairview Road Extension
Project Overview
The N.C. Department of Transportation is proposing to extend Fairview Road over I-77 to connect with Alcove Road. The proposed project will address inadequate connectivity, travel delay and congestion The purpose of this project is to improve east-west connectivity, improve travel times, and reduce congestion on Fairview and Alcove roads.
Two alternatives have been developed for U-5817:
Alternative 1
Extend Fairview Road over I-77 and relocate Alcove Road to align with the existing Cardigan Way.
Alternative 2
Extend Fairview Road over I-77 and relocate Alcove Road to align with the existing I-77 South off-ramp.
