Project Overview
The N.C. Department of Transportation is proposing safety improvements at the John McMillan Road (S.R. 2244) and Chickenfoot Road (S.R. 2252) intersection.
The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance safety and improve traffic flow at the John McMillan Road and Chickenfoot Road intersection. There were 30 crashes at the study intersection over a ten-year study period. Twenty-three of the crashes at the intersection were crossing pattern type crashes, including vehicles failing to yield to oncoming traffic or vehicles running the stop sign on John McMillan Road.
Project Highlights
Proposed safety improvements at the intersection of John McMillan Road and Chickenfoot Road include constructing a roundabout at the intersection. Traffic will be detoured off-site during construction.

RESOURCES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS
Although the N.C. Department of Transportation works to minimize the number of homes and businesses displaced by a road project, it is inevitable, in many cases, that a certain amount of private property is needed.
