Residents Give City Highest Ever City Services Satisfaction Rating
Great news! According to the recently completed 2024 Community Satisfaction & Budget Priority Survey, the City of San Antonio is setting the national standard and breaking local records in resident satisfaction in delivery of its services. The purpose of the statistically valid survey was to measure satisfaction and help City leaders identify priorities for investment in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
Residents this year reported an all-time high satisfaction rating of 87 percent in the overall quality of City of San Antonio services. This is a 13 percentage point increase from 74 percent in 2022 and a 23 percentage point increase from 64 percent in 2018. The following are a few additional highlights:
- Resident satisfaction increased in 21 of the 25 areas assessed. Residents noted the largest increase in satisfaction of 24 percentage points for the overall quality of Public Works services, which is 78 percent today, up from 54 percent in 2022.
- The City of San Antonio is performing significantly above the national average in satisfaction ratings, including for customer service and overall city services.
- Resident’s ranked top priorities for investment in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget are: streets, homeless encampment cleanups, services to assist the homeless, sidewalks and police services.
- The ranking of infrastructure as a major priority for investment, coupled with the leap in satisfaction in Public Works services, shows that the City is investing is services that are important to its residents.

San Antonio Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Survey Results
The City of San Antonio's 2024 Community Satisfaction & Budget Priority Survey show the City is breaking local records in resident satisfaction in delivery of its services. Residents noted a record satisfaction rating of 87 percent in City services. This is a 13 percent increase from 2022. The survey determined residents' top priorities for the Fiscal Year 2025 budget:
- Streets
- Homeless encampment cleanups
- Services to assist the homeless
- Sidewalks

San Antonio's Fourth of July Celebrations are Bigger and Brighter Than Ever in 2024
Neighbors! You're invited to be a part of the inaugural festive San Antonio Stars and Stripes on Houston Street. Events are July 1 to 7, with marquee experiences scheduled for the weekend of July 4 to 7.
Events include a street parade on Houston Street, picnics in the park, movie nights, paletas, music, cocktails, and more. Here are some event highlights:
- The Salute at Sunset River Parades, honoring all military branches, will be July 4th and 5th.
- Stars and Stripes Concert at the Alamo with the U.S. Air Force Rock Band and a drone show narrated by Pat Green.
- The city’s official celebration at Woodlawn Lake Park with all-day fun and the fireworks show.
San Antonio Stars & Stripes on Houston Street is a collaboration between the City of San Antonio, CENTRO San Antonio, the Alamo and Visit San Antonio.

SAILS ADA Anniversary Event
Date and Time: July 27, 8:30 a.m.

Join San Antonio Independent Living Services (SAILS) and Morgan's Wonderland to celebrate the 34th Anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). Agencies providing services for residents with disabilities will be there to share resources.

Immunizations for Children
Parents, don’t get caught in long lines! Now is the time to get your children immunized for the next school year. Immunizations help keep children healthy and safe by protecting them against illnesses. If you have questions about vaccines, please speak with your child’s medical provider, or call Metro Health at 210-207-8894.

RentWise SA Renter Rights and Responsibilities Info Sessions
The Neighborhood and Housing Services Department (NHSD) is hosting two information sessions in July. The sessions are on renter rights and responsibilities. They are available in English and Spanish. NHSD staff will be there to answer questions and refer you to other housing services.

Plastic Bags No Longer Accepted in City's Blue Cart
The San Antonio Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) will no longer accept single-use plastic bags in the blue recycling cart starting August 1. You may drop off your bundled plastic bags at retail store kiosks specifically for plastic bags. This ensures the bags are collected separately and can be properly processed into new products.

San Antonio Neighbors Together

Resilient and Responsive Artist Talk
Date and Time: July 11, 6 p.m.
Location: Culture Commons Gallery at Plaza de Armas (115 Plaza de Armas, San Antonio, TX 78205)
At this event, artists from the Resilient and Responsive exhibition will speak about their work in the show. Attendees will be able to create a unique work of art using instructions shared by the artists.

Amazing Preservation Race for Kids (APR Kids)
Date and Time: July 27, 8:30 a.m.
Location: Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair (434 S. Alamo St., San Antonio TX 78205)
The City's Office of Historic Preservation invites you to channel your inner superhero and face off at the Amazing Preservation Race for Kids (APR Kids).
This race is a fun, place-focused scavenger hunt that explores San Antonio's history and architecture. Join us and discover the many hidden treasures of Hemisfair!
Racers use a passport and map to complete fun challenges. Some activities include and archaeological dig, building a tower, and racing gondolas.
Registration is now open. Race entry, event t-shirt, and finisher's medal included in price. Cost is $5 per child. Registration is limited, so don't delay!
