TRAFFIC NOTICE

We acknowldge that traffic through this construction has been a major bottleneck on traffic flow. For this reason our contractor has put their full resources on the job to get the job completed. Well... we have big news!

Traffic will be restored permanently back to two lanes of traffic in each direction starting this weekend!

Yep, that is weeks ahead of schedule, and the hardest part is behind us! The pedestrian culvert is set in-place and shrouded by a strong foundation of earth to hold up the road over the top. From this point forward, motorists can expect occasional lane shifts, but full lane reductions should be a thing of the past!

LOOKING AHEAD - FULL CLOSURE COMING

Okay, so we aren't completely out of the woods yet. We still have tentative plans to completely close down US-89(Main Street) just to the inside of 640 S and 500 S. However, don't get too concerned. This will be a planned SINGLE NIGHTTIME CLOSURE ONLY. Right now we are targeting Saturday night, June 6 starting at 11pm to 9am Sunday morning. It will be necessary to complete the paving over the affected region as quickly as possible, instead of stiching the process together over several days. The only things that could change the date is if the temperatures get too cold overnight, or the asphalt delivery is delayed. So far, the long range forecast looks good, but we will keep you updated with another email before the event. For now, just know we will be encouraging drivers to use either 1000W, 100 W, or 100 E to go around the closure when it happens.

We also wanted to give a huge SHOUT OUT to all the business owners affected by this construction project over the last several months. We know it's been a long haul for them. Please take a lunch break this summer and visit one of these businesses and pass along a word of thanks!

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) in partnership with Logan City will install a pedestrian culvert undercrossing trail at 600S, located adjacent to the US-89 (Main Street) Bridge in Logan City. This underpass addresses a critical gap in the trail network, allowing for safe and uninterrupted movement between trails near the Logan River Golf Course and those extending toward Logan Canyon. It will improve accessibility and safety by eliminating the need for trail users to cross Main Street.
