Rankin Parking Garage to Reopen by Weekend of September 12 - Immediate Repair Needs Discovered
The contractor has identified additional repair needs in the Rankin Parking Garage, the most critical being a structural repair on one of the interior ramps (photo below). This repair will require shoring down to the ground level, prohibiting access to the garage. This work will be completed along with the rest of the remaining repairs in Rankin Parking Garage. Fortunately, this issue was discovered and won't cause further disruption after the project is complete. However, due to this unexpected discovery, the contractor requires an additional week to finish work before Rankin Parking Garage can be reopened.
This puts the reopening date for Rankin Parking Garage at September 11, or before the weekend of September 12. At that time, work will transition to the Wall Street Garage.
In the coming weeks, the contractor will complete repairs on the structural corbels and tee stems, in addition to installation of new expansion joints, traffic sealers and waterproofing in Rankin Garage. Striping and traffic markings will follow.

This is unrelated to the Parking Garage Capital Improvements Project, however we'd like to share that the Public Works team is in the process of addressing this issue.
