City to Spruce Up River Walk Through Annual Cleaning
City staff are already taking steps to improve and beautify our River Walk. Crews will drain the San Antonio River Walk to clean and maintain it. The work will take place from Sunday, January 11 to Monday, January 19. The City of San Antonio and the San Antonio River Authority lead this important work.
Draining the river helps keep it safe, beautiful, and enjoyable for everyone. During the project, workers will remove dirt and trash and make repairs if needed.
Crews will drain the main part of the river from W. Josephine Street to S. Alamo Street. This includes the downtown river loop and extension areas.
Go Rio Cruises will pause service in the downtown River Walk and Museum Reach areas until the work ends. There will be no road closures during this time.
