April Fools' Day
April 1 has arrived. Pranks might be flying but the excitement in San Antonio this month is no joke! No one’s quite sure how April Fools’ Day began but some residents might recall the San Antonio Zoo’s fake collaboration with Buc-ee's on a new beaver-themed adventure park. Taco Cabana also tried to trick people to believe the next big thing would churro straws. Keep your wits about you today and don’t get fooled!

Public Warning System Statewide Drill
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., the Texas Department of Emergency Management will conduct a statewide Public Warning System drill.
During this time, you may receive a text message on your phone, see alerts on local TV or radio, or hear sirens. This is only a test to ensure systems are ready for real emergencies.
If you hear or see an alert on April 2, no action is needed. It is just a drill.
