Carter Ann Patton Stormwater Improvement Project Update June 27, 2024
I am writing to provide you with an important update regarding the ongoing Carter-Ann-Patton Stormwater Improvement project.
Sidewalk Work in front of Firestone
The main stretch of sidewalk in front of Firestone was finished last week and is now open for pedestrian traffic. The eastern driveway on Patton Ave. is now under construction and will be reopened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Monday, July 1.
Traffic and Lane Closures on Patton Ave.
Currently, there is a two-lane closure on Patton Ave. between Grove St. and Pearl St. Beginning Monday, July 1, the two-lane closure will be shortened to be between Grove St. and S. Ann St. See map below.
Upcoming Work expected to begin in July 9

An overnight closure of the Patton Ave. / French Broad Ave. intersection will be needed to prepare the 16" potable water main for new connections, anticipated for the night of Tuesday, July 9.

An overnight localized water system shutdown and intersection closure will occur for reconnection of all potable water pipes in the Patton Ave. / French Broad Ave. intersection, anticipated for the night of Wednesday, July 10.
