Enjoy a Taste of Native Culinary Heritage
Join the World Heritage Office for a special evening with Chef Adán Medrano and photographer JoMando Cruz. Chef Medrano will talk about his new "Texas Mexican Plant-Based Cookbook" with photography by JoMando Cruz. This event brings together stories, photography, and cuisine that highlights local Indigenous traditions.
Date & Time: Thursday, November 6, 6 p.m.
Location: World Heritage Center (3106 Roosevelt Avenue, 78214)
Guests will experience an outdoor exhibit featuring the book's imagery. They can also enjoy samples of the flavorful recipes. Attendees can buy a copy of the book and have it signed by Chef Medrano. Books will be available while supplies last.

This free public event features holiday-themed crafts and specialty products, Loteria by ¡Que Sabor!, a tamal making workshop, and more! Join us later for a special film screening of “Home Alone” as part of our Outdoor Family Film Series presented by HEB. The Wonder Theatre Premier Group will perform before the film. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

Application Open for Planning Commission
The City of San Antonio is seeking applicants for its Planning Commission. The deadline to apply is November 23, 2025.
The Planning Commission advises City Council on changes to the City's Master Plan and Unified Development Code.
San Antonio residents with different levels of experience are encouraged to apply. Reach out to the Office of the City Clerk at boards@sanantonio.gov with questions.

Wood Window Restoration Workshop
A one-day wood window restoration workshop presented by the Living Heritage Trades Academy!
Date & Time: Saturday, November 15, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Architectural – Learning Studio (1350 E. Southcross Blvd., 78223)
Cost: Registration cost to attend is $25. Lunch will be provided.
Discover the art of wood window restoration in this hands-on workshop. In one day, you’ll get practical experience with basic repair techniques. Participants will work directly with window sashes.
In this event you’ll learn how to:
- Identify window parts, assess condition, and perform basic maintenance
- Repair sashes, re-glaze windows, and remove paint safely
- Explore weatherization techniques and preservation standards
- Practice hardware repair, glass work, millwork, and troubleshooting
No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and willingness to learn. You’ll leave with new skills and the confidence to take on your own restoration projects.

Join San Antonio Parks & Recreation in celebrating San Antonio's Urban Forest!

November 15 is America Recycles Day. The Solid Waste Management Department has resources to help you recycle right!
