Carter Ann Patton Stormwater Improvement Project Update February 18, 2025

I am writing to provide you with an update regarding the ongoing Carter-Ann-Patton Stormwater Improvement project.  We’re making significant progress on the installation of the new stormwater system along Patton Avenue and Carter Street.

Here’s what to expect in the coming weeks:

  • Lane Closures: Until the roadway is ready for repaving, there will be intermittent lane closures in the area as crews finalize the stormwater system and sidewalk installation.
  • Traffic Flow Update: Traffic will be maintained in both directions along Patton Avenue, which should help ease travel in the area.
  • Paving Work: Final paving work will depend on asphalt availability and weather conditions, and we’ll provide updates as timelines become clearer.  Paving in February and early March presents challenges due to weather. Staff will continue to work with the contractor to move the project to completion as soon as it is feasible to do so.

We understand that the shifting timelines can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience as our staff and contractors work diligently to complete this important project in time for spring. We will continue to keep you informed as timelines become more clear for project completion dates.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we work towards enhancing our community's infrastructure.
