CHERRY HILL TRAIL PHASE 2 LAUNCHES SOON
Design is underway for a new segment of the Patapsco Regional Greenway (PRG) in Baltimore City’s Cherry Hill neighborhood. This trail will offer new ways to bike, walk and roll in the area. Earlier this spring, we shared the potential trail location from the original PRG Plan and asked for community input.
In mid-October, we’ll share several possible trail routes (called “alignments”) that were shaped by community feedback. We want to hear what you think about each option.
Comments will be welcome through November 17 and a Community Open House will be held on Tuesday, November 4 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Middle Branch Fitness & Wellness Center (201 Reedbird Ave, Baltimore, MD 21225).

Howard County is working on a plan to make it safer and easier to walk and bike in Elkridge. BALTIMORE RETIMES TRAFFIC SIGNALS TO IMPROVE SAFETY AND REDUCE DELAYS
Baltimore City is retiming over 1,100 traffic signals citywide. As more people walk, bike, ride transit, and drive, the signals need to reflect today’s traffic patterns. Updating the signals will help reduce speeding, improve pedestrian safety, and prevent crashes. It will also make it easier to get around by car, bus, bike, or on foot while cutting traffic delays.
New safety features include:
- Giving pedestrians a head start before cars can turn
- Adding extra “all-red” time between light changes
The project is being done in phases: South, Central, and East Baltimore have been completed, while North, West, and Northwest Baltimore are next. The city expects to finish the full update by 2026.
