Carter Ann Patton Stormwater Improvement Project Update July 11, 2024
I am writing to provide you with an update regarding the ongoing Carter-Ann-Patton Stormwater Improvement project.
Traffic and Lane Closures on Patton Ave.
Currently, there is a two-lane closure on Patton Ave. between Grove St. and S. Ann St. This closure is anticipated to remain in place for another week. See map below:
Water Main Relocation
Significant progress has been made in consolidating the water main around the Patton Ave. and French Broad Ave. intersection to make room for the new stormwater system. The final water service switch will occur next week overnight.
Sidewalk Work in front of Western Carolina Rescue Ministries
A stormwater drain will be installed and sidewalk reconstruction will be completed next week in front of Western Carolina Rescue Ministries.
Upcoming Work
Lane closures will switch to the south side of Patton Ave. to lay stormwater structures between Carter St. and N. Ann St. (see map below). The next overnight road closure is expected at the end of July.
We understand that construction activities may cause inconveniences, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. The City of Asheville is committed to keeping you informed as work progresses. For more information and future updates, please visit the project page.
