View Concepts + Offer Feedback on Thursday

Designs and renderings have been created based on your feedback and they're ready for your review! Join the next exciting phase of repurposing and revitalizing Walton Street Park, a community-driven process that continues to build on a great deal of input already collected from you and your neighbors.

Stop into a drop-in community open house on Thursday, December 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center to see the project team's initial design concepts for enhancements to the historic pool area. This is a direct opportunity to provide essential input to ensure the project stays focused on your community’s vision. Activities for children and refreshments will be provided.

Be a Part of Riverfront Recovery + Rebuilding

The continued revitalization of Walton Street Park that encompasses the historic pool area and the new playground, paved walking loop, additional lighting and safety enhancements, and mural on the rebuilt basketball court is only one exciting community investment in Southside. Other investments include Livingston Street traffic calming improvements, Nasty Branch Greenway, and greenway connectors to Memorial Stadium and the French Broad riverfront.

Join friends at Asheville Middle School on Wednesday, December 10 from 6-8pm for a drop-in open house to tell members of the Asheville Recovers project team the best ways to build back our city's riverfront parks, greenways, and public infrastructure to serve everyone who lives in our community. There are also focused discussions on Thursday, December 11 – including one designated specifically for riverfront neighbors like those who live in Southside.

If you cannot make either of these opportunities, please spend a few minutes taking the survey below by December 19.
