US-89 | Logan River Trail Undercrossing Project
WINTER SUSPENSION
December 19, 2025

Some good news to share as we head into the holidays! Our UDOT contractors on the Logan River Trail Undercrossing Project will officially wrap up their 2025 construction starting tomorrow, and the project is now suspended until Spring 2026.

This fall brought significant progress to the site thanks in part to extremely cooperative weather. Crews completed key milestones including demolition, site preparation, concrete wall pours, and drainage enhancements—transforming the area and laying the foundation for what’s to come. We’re excited to share photos below that highlight how far the project has come. We sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation throughout this phase of construction, especially during periods of single-lane closures that allowed this important work to move forward.

PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE - MARCH 2026

Prior to work resuming next Spring, UDOT and Logan city staff will hold a public open house to discuss anticipated traffic impacts, and other key operational planning.  Starting as early as next April, tentative plans are set to begin cutting in the undercrossing through US-89 (Main Street). This work will tie together the structure from one side of the road to the other.  This critical period of construction will require significant traffic impacts with perpetual lane closures in either direction, including some prescribed full-closures of US-89 during nighttime hours. We welcome your participation and input during this event - stay tuned for more details to come as the date approaches.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) in partnership with Logan City will install a pedestrian culvert undercrossing trail at 600S, located adjacent to the US-89 (Main Street) Bridge in Logan City.  This underpass addresses a critical gap in the trail network, allowing for safe and uninterrupted movement between trails near the Logan River Golf Course and those extending toward Logan Canyon.  It will improve accessibility and safety by eliminating the need for trail users to cross Main Street.
