Carter Ann Patton Stormwater Improvement Project Update July 25, 2024

I am writing to provide you with an update regarding the ongoing Carter-Ann-Patton Stormwater Improvement project.

Sidewalk Work in front of Western Carolina Rescue Ministries

The stormwater drain and sidewalk around Western Carolina Rescue Ministries was completed last week.

Water Main Relocation

We continue to make progress in consolidating the water main around the Patton Ave. and French Broad Ave. intersection to make room for the new stormwater system. The waterline has been relocated and reconnected at the west end of Patton Ave.

Upcoming Work

The water main relocation work around the east end of French Broad Ave is scheduled to begin next week. During this phase of work water service residents and businesses in the construction area may experience service interruption. Any service interruption will be communicated through AVL Alerts. You can sign up for AVL Alerts here. It is expected this work will not impact traffic patterns.

We understand that construction activities may cause inconveniences, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. The City of Asheville is committed to keeping you informed as work progresses. For more information and future updates, please visit the project page.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we work towards enhancing our community's infrastructure.
