Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Adoption
The Fiscal Year 2026 Budget will be adopted by City Council on Thursday, September 18. The council session begins at 9 a.m.
You can watch live by tuning into the City's Facebook page or TVSA channels, or listen live by calling 210-207-5555. Spanish and American Sign Language interpretation is available.

Tour de las Misiones
We're celebrating 10 years of the San Antonio Missions as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
Date & Time: Saturday, September 6, 7 a.m.
Location: Mission County Park (6030 Padre Drive, 78214)
Join us in the celebration with a one-of-a-kind bike, walk, and run! Enjoy a leisurely bike ride ranging from 7 to 22 miles with stops at one or all historic missions. Participate in the 5K and 10K walk and run through the scenic Mission River Reach and Mission San Jose! Participants are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt, finisher medal, bib, and a passport to visit all five San Antonio Missions.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off
Do you have hazardous household waste that needs proper disposal? Join us in making a difference by dropping off your waste.
Date & Time: September 6 , 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: Bitters Bulky Waste Collection Center (1800 Wurzbach Parkway, 78216)
Remember to bring your ID, and a CPS Energy bill to show proof of residency.

Join San Antonio Neighbors Together
San Antonio Neighbors Together is an annual event that will take place on Tuesday, October 7. This event happens on the first Tuesday of October. It's focused on building relationships between local police and the communities they serve.
Neighbors connect with City departments and learn tips for crime prevention. Police officers share information with residents about what’s going on in their neighborhoods.
Everyone is welcome to San Antonio Neighbors Together. Get registered and get involved. Participating groups must register by Friday, September 12, 2025 to receive full SAPD support.

Celebrate Fiestas Patrias
September 15 marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. San Antonio has a long-standing relationship with Mexico, and will host many events this month to celebrate!
Notably, Dieciséis de Septiembre (September 16) honors Mexico's Independence with special events. Join in on this unique celebration of heritage and history.

Historic Preservation 101
Have a historic home and want to learn skills to help you care for it? Join a free class to learn more and find the information you need for your next project.
Date & Time: Saturday, September 20, 10 a.m.
Location: 1901 S. Alamo St., 78204
In this class, you'll become familiar with San Antonio’s historic preservation program. We will cover why preservation is important and the benefits it offers to our community. Office of Historic Preservation staff will guide you through preservation tools and programs the City uses!
This class is part of the City's Preservation Academy. The Academy offers free classes and workshops for residents interested in historic preservation.

Casita Incentive Pilot Program to Open Soon
The City's Casita Incentive Pilot Program is designed to lower barriers to building accessory dwelling units, promote affordability, and increase housing access across the city.
This program offers financial support for property owners who meet one of the following criteria:
- Earn 80% or less of the area median income (AMI)
- Have a renter earning 50% or less of the AMI
Financial help is available for design fees on Casita Permit-Ready Plans for eligible property owners earning 80% AMI or less. Casitas are also eligible for a waiver of most City permit fees.
The Pilot Program is expected to open for applications in late September.
