Weaver Park Playground Closure for Maintenance on Oct. 29 & 30
The playground at Weaver Park will be closed tomorrow and Friday (October 29-30, 2026) to allow for play mulch replacement. We recognize this is short notice, but moving forward immediately allows our contractor to complete the work ahead of forecasted rain. Signage will be posted on-site to notify visitors. This mulch replacement is an essential safety measure that will keep our play area clean, safe, and well maintained for all users.
Improvements Continue
Here's the latest progress update on Weaver Park Improvements:
- Critical site drainage work and sod installation are now complete.
- A bid proposal has been posted for field drainage and surface improvements. Bids will close on Nov. 10.
- An order has been placed for a flubber entry part which will accommodate varied access on the playground. The flubber entry part for the playground is expected to be received in early 2027.
- A quote has been received and is being reviewed by staff for an additional part to accommodate different access between play pods.
- The project team continues to communicate with potential contractors for updates to baseball fencing.
- Field repairs are on track to be completed by the beginning of next year's baseball season.
