US-89 (Main Street) | Logan River Trail Undercrossing Project
!! Additional Lane Closures | One-Lane Each Direction !!
April 6, 2026

!! Traffic Notice !!

Starting the morning of Tuesday, April 7, our UDOT contractors will shift traffic control on US-89(Main Street) to one-lane in both directions.  This work is required to install the first half of the pedestrian undercrossing culvert at 600S.  Please plan on significant traffic impacts for up to two months.   We anticipate moderate/heavy travel delays during this time between 5-15 minutes, with additional delays during peak periods.  (See Traffic Control Configurations Below)

What To Expect Over the Next Several Weeks

The next several phases of construction will require travel lanes be reduced to single-lane in each direction.  During this time the pedestrian culvert will be installed in one-half sections; West half first and east half second.  Additional turning restrictions will be required at 640 & 700S.  Traffic congestion could be moderate to heavy during peak times.  UDOT encourages drivers to practice zipper merging to reduce overall congestion by up to 40%.

All Lanes OPEN Starting Tuesday Night, April 28 | USU Graduation

To accomodate for the USU commencement ceremonies, all lanes are planned to be OPEN starting Tuesday night, April 28.  Lane closures will immediately return to one-lane in each direction starting the following Monday, May 4.  The timing for these events will be announced through newsletters, text messaging and social media updates provided by Logan City. (See construction schedule summary below)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) in partnership with Logan City will install a pedestrian culvert undercrossing trail at 600S, located adjacent to the US-89 (Main Street) Bridge in Logan City.  This underpass addresses a critical gap in the trail network, allowing for safe and uninterrupted movement between trails near the Logan River Golf Course and those extending toward Logan Canyon.  It will improve accessibility and safety by eliminating the need for trail users to cross Main Street.
