Due to recent severe weather and collection vehicle repairs, residents may experience delays in yard waste collection. Please continue placing yard waste out on your assigned day. Public Works crews are working as quickly as possible to collect your yard waste.

5 Tips to Save on Energy Costs
Did you know that more than 50% of your home’s energy costs come from heating and cooling? Take a few proactive steps around your home to make a big difference in your monthly utility bills:
- Keep thermostat high: Set it to 78° or higher to lower cooling costs.
- Check filters: Swap or clean dirty filters when needed so your AC runs efficiently.
- Seal drafty windows: Block air leaks with weather stripping, caulk, or window film.
- Use shades: Close drapes and blinds during the hottest parts of the day.
- Watch out for energy "vampires": Unplug devices, power strips, and small appliances when not in use.

Community Input Sessions for S. Hughes Street Planning & Design
The Town of Apex is exploring a mixed‑income, mixed‑use development on 13-acres of town‑owned land along South Hughes Street near Perry Road. We're hosting community input sessions on August 15th and August 19th to present project information and collaborate with residents on ideas, priorities, and feedback for future development.

Become an Apex Connector! The Neighborhood Leaders Program launches on August 20th and seeks community champions eager to build stronger neighborhoods. Program participants will receive the resources needed to serve as ambassadors to their community, keeping their neighbors updated on happenings around Apex, and representing their neighborhoods on key issues.

Salem Streetscape Phase 2 is Now Underway
Crews broke ground on the West side of Salem Street last week! Here’s what you need to know:
Follow the Flow.
- Continue to drive southbound only, but on the other side of the street. Follow the traffic barrels and be cautious in this area as drivers and pedestrians adjust to the new traffic pattern.
- Drivers at the intersection of Chatham & Salem may experience slightly longer wait times during this part of the project.
- Stay tuned for final touches on the east side of Salem, like the addition of new street lighting, trees, and furnishings coming soon!

Stormwater Condition Assessment Project Dashboard Now Available
The first project funded by the Town’s Stormwater Utility Fee is now complete. The Town's assessment of Town-maintained stormwater infrastructure finished recently, and a dashboard is now available with its findings.
The Stormwater Condition Assessment Project studied catch basins, storm drains and pipes, culverts, outfalls and other infrastructure in designated study areas to identify future repair and improvement needs.
