This initiative seeks to improve public safety and end traffic fatalities through education, enforcement and engineering projects like crosswalks, bike lanes and better street lighting. Remember: Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent closures from occurring as scheduled and make it unsafe to close and/or reopen lanes or streets when planned. When this occurs, The City works directly with appropriate stakeholders to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible and reduce impacts on the traveling public.
Pedestrians walking near event areas should be alert, and cautious and allow extra traveling time. It is advised they cross at signalized intersections, use pedestrian walk signals where available, and abide by detour signage.
Motorists traveling through event areas should be alert and extra cautious. Drivers should proactively obey all signage and constantly be on the lookout for others traveling through event areas.

This event begins at 8 a.m. on Claude Freeman Dr, Governor Hunt Road, Mallard Creek Road, Prosperity Church Road, Fairlea Drive, Clarks Creek Greenway, Mallard Creek Greenway, Toby Creek Greenway, returning to David Taylor Drive, and ending on Claude Freeman Drive.
Organizers expect 1,500 participants.

April 6: Charlotte Racefest

|
|
The event begins at 7:30 a.m. at Symphony Park on Barclay Downs Drive. They will go up Barclay Downs Drive towards Runnymede Lane, Sharon Road, to Providence Road. They will then go through Olde Providence North, Governor’s Square, Foxcroft, and returning to Symphony Park. This race consists of a half marathon and a 10k route as well.

It will finish at Travis Avenue and Bartow Court.

Sidewalk riding is allowed except in the area of Uptown bound by Church St., Brooklyn Village Ave., College St., and 7th St. This restriction is for bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters. When riding on sidewalks, be visible, courteous, and yield to pedestrians at all times.
