Housing & Neighborhood Preservation Draft FY 19 Annual Action Plan
Housing & Neighborhood Preservation Draft FY 19 Annual Action Plan
Each year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that the City of Virginia Beach submit an Annual Action Plan. The plan outlines how the city will use and allocate funding under the following federal entitlement grants: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program and the Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) Program. These funds are used to support programs to create affordable housing opportunities, address homelessness and provide home rehabilitation grants and loans for low- to moderate-income homeowners. Final fund allocations are subject to City Council appropriation and approval of the Annual Action Plan by HUD. The purpose of this public input opportunity is to meet the requirement for a 30-day comment period for the draft contingent Annual Action Plan.
A summary of the draft FY 19 Annual Action Plan and the full draft plan can be found below under "Documents."
