UDOT has started designing improvements on US-89 from just south of SR-126 in South Willard to 3000 South in Perry. The pavement on US-89 is failing and needs to be replaced to extend the life of the roadway. An environmental study is also underway and will evaluate impacts associated with reconstructing the roadway, improving drainage, and widening shoulders.
The environmental study and initial design of the roadway started in May 2022. Residents and business owners along the project area may see project team members gathering information near their property along US-89. This information could be used for the environmental study or design of the project.
As part of the environmental study, a public hearing will be held in the fall of 2022 for stakeholders to review the findings of the study and see the initial design.
