Seward Highway Improvements: Bird to Indian (Milepost 100-105)
Seward Highway Improvements: Bird to Indian (Milepost 100-105)
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is constructing improvements on the Seward Highway, MP 100-105, between the communities of Bird Creek and Indian. The federally funded action includes a Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (3R) project, and a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) project. The 3R project will extend the roadway service life. The HSIP project will improve safety and reduce congestion.
Construction of the project began in spring of 2020 with the majority of the work completed this season.
Construction will continue through 2021 and will include final surface paving, completion of bridge replacement at Indian Creek, installation of the flashing signal at Sawmill Road, installation of cluster mail boxes at Boretide Road, and finishing driveways and approaches.
If you have questions about construction, reside in the construction zone and require special accommodations, please contact DOT Highway Construction at 907-344-5002.
