Lucille Street Culvert Replacement & Flood Hazard Mitigation
Lucille Street Culvert Replacement & Flood Hazard Mitigation
PROJECT SCOPE:
This project replaces an existing culvert from a 36 inch diameter culvert to a 72 inch diameter culvert. Increasing the diameter of this culvert will reduce flooding on the headwaters side of a creek where private residences are located.
This project will also increase the slope of the culvert slightly to encourage water flow downstream. The existing culvert is exposed on one side and is damaged by ATV traffic. The upgrade will also bury the new culvert and protect it from damage. This project will require the relocation of utilities.
BENEFITS:
This project:
- Reduces flood risk upstream
- Protects the nearby neighborhood from future flood events
- Will protect the new culvert from ATV traffic damage
STATUS:
A 95% design plan set is complete.
Currently in the process of applying for a Hazard Mitigation Grant from FEMA to cover the remaining design and construction costs.
PROJECT COSTS:
Design: $25,300
Construction: $126,800
Utility Relocates: $118,630
Total Project Cost: $270,760
