Project Design

The new bridge will:

  • Be constructed on new alignment to the east of the current bridge

  • Include two 12-foot travel lanes with 8-foot shoulders

  • Include two truck access routes at the N.C. 48 and Roanoke Avenue Extension intersection which will improve sidewalk and traffic operations

  • The Gaston Boating Access Area will remain in service once construction is completed
