In addition, the project will replace or rehabilitate the storm drain system along the corridor, including the outfall into Campbell Creek west of Arctic Roadrunner. The project is funded with MOA bonds and has been split into phases to accelerate construction.
Schedule
Phase 1, reconstructing Old Seward from Alaska Cycle Center to Tudor Road, has been bid and construction will occur in early summer of 2021.
Phase 2, reconstructing the storm drain between Phase 1 and Campbell Creek, is dependent on funding but is anticipated in 2022.
