Project Overview

The project involves the proposed construction of a second passenger rail platform and pedestrian overpass at the Kannapolis Train Station in Cabarrus County.

Proposed improvements include:

  • Construction of a new passenger rail platform adjacent to east track

  • Construction of a pedestrian overpass to provide access from the existing station to new platform (open to general pedestrian traffic as well)

  • New parking adjacent to the station

Public Meeting:

A public meeting was held on Thursday, October 24 to present project maps and receive public input.
