The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is updating the Airport Master Plan for Merle K. “Mudhole” Smith Airport. The update will explore and document a plan for near, middle, and long-term development at the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration requires an updated master plan to provide funding for improvements.

Master plan focus areas are:

  • Airport use forecast
  • Airport layout plan
  • Critical aircraft types
  • Airside facilities
  • Landside facilities
What existing airport conditions would you like the team to know about?
What is important to you about the future of the airport? Please be as specific as possible.
