State Route 191; Arizona State Line to Bluff

Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is rehabilitating SR-191 from the Utah/Arizona border to Bluff, Utah in San Juan County through fall 2023*. Work will include the removal and replacement of asphalt to make a smoother ride and extend the life of the roadway, guardrail replacement, new seal overlay on the bridge over the San Juan River, and sign replacement. This work will require single-lane closures controlled by flaggers and motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Project Activities:
  • Crews will finish driveway approaches along the project corridor next week, October 2. Intermittent access limitations will occur as crews move through driveways.
  • Crews are finishing the first application of lane striping today, Wednesday, September 27,and will return next month for the final application.
  • Beginning next week, October 2, crews will be smoothing out any rough areas along the project corridor. Motorists can expect minor delays during this work.
