In an effort to preserve and extend the life of the pavement, UDOT renewed approximately 30 miles of U.S. 40 in Wasatch/Duchesne County between Soldier Creek near Strawberry Reservoir and Duchesne. Work included crack sealing, asphalt repairs, the placement of a new road surface (called a chip seal), and road sign updates. This project improved safety and driving conditions along this highly-traveled corridor.
Work on this project is nearly complete. Only a couple of minor work items and project clean-up remain.
We would like to thank you all for your patience and cooperation during construction, and invite you to send any feedback, questions, or concerns regarding this project to our team using the contact information below.
Upcoming Work Activities (as of 11/02/2022)
On Tuesday, November 8, crews will return to place the second and final coat of permanent striping paint along the corridor. This process is expected to take up to three days.
*Schedule subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
During striping activities next week, motorists can expect intermittent lane shifts, lane closures, and minor travel delays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Please mind traffic control devices and any directions from flaggers on-site to prevent damage to your vehicle caused by wet paint.
For your safety and the safety of those working in the area, please use extra caution, reduce speeds, and follow all posted signs and signals when driving through construction zones. Barrels and other traffic control devices are placed to guide motorists safely through the work zone, and to protect the project team.
