The Calexico East Land Port of Entry (POE) Joint Operations System Project seeks to improve traffic flow and reduce border wait times at the Calexico East Port of Entry along State Route 7 (SR-7) in Imperial County. This project will allow commercial vehicle traffic to schedule border crossings in advance, provide up-to-the-minute wait time updates for northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) travelers, and upgrade communication tools along SR-7, I-8, and I-10 to improve traffic operations. These enhancements will streamline trade, improve safety, and reduce idling emissions.​

The Caltrans District 12 Reconnecting Our Communities (ROC) Study is an initiative that identifies opportunities to reconnect neighborhoods divided by transportation infrastructure and to improve safety, accessibility, and equitable access for all modes of travel. The Study focuses on targeted areas within Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Garden Grove, and Huntington Beach where data and community input have identified challenges related to safety, access, and getting around. Through collaborative planning, data analysis, and community dialogue, the Study will develop conceptual project ideas and strategies that restore local connectivity and strengthen walking, biking, transit, and multimodal travel networks across Orange County.

Caltrans District 11 is preparing the Lithium Valley Connectivity Project to evaluate current and future multimodal transportation conditions along State Routes 111, 115, 86, and 78 in Imperial County. This effort focuses on understanding corridor performance, travel needs, and emerging demands associated with regional growth in the Lithium Valley area.
