Homer Airport Improvements
Homer Airport Improvements
The purpose of this project is to extend the useful life of runway and taxiway infrastructure at the Homer Airport. This project proposes to rehabilitate the pavement and Runway Safety Area for Runway 4-22, rehabilitate Taxiways A and B on the southeast side of the runway, resurface the General Aviation Apron (southeast side of runway), pave the gravel portion of the General Aviation Apron at the northeast end, remove existing pavement from Taxiway D to convert it to an airfield maintenance road, and construct a new airport maintenance road along the inside of the perimeter fence. Electrical system improvements will include replacement of the runway and taxiway lighting systems as well as lighted taxiway signs. Drainage improvements will include replacement of various culverts along the runway and taxiways, and regrading of drainage areas around the runway and taxiways to improve surface runoff.
