Project Background
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is rehabilitating and widening State Route 24 (SR-24) between Torrey and Hanksville. Work will continue throughout the summer. New guardrail and drainage features are also included in the project. In total, the project will involve improvements to approximately 23 miles of roadway.
What to Expect
- Schedule: Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The first phase of improvements includes the east end of Torrey and covers approximately 10 miles, ending just short of Capitol Reef N.P.
- The second phase of the project is now underway just west of Hanksville and will eventually continue to the airport.
- Traffic: While work is underway, motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic controlled with flaggers, temporary traffic signals, and pilot car operations.
- Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected.
