UDOT is improving the 5400 South and 1900 West intersection. This project will install new drainage to smooth out the north side of the intersection and adjust signal timing to allow more vehicles to clear the intersection.

Project Overview
UDOT plans to improve the 5400 South and 1900 West intersection. This project will install new drainage to smooth out the north side of the intersection and adjust signal timing to allow more vehicles to clear the intersection.
Surrounding Residents & Businesses Can Expect:
- Traffic delays, include lane shifts and travel delays
- Access restrictions
- Construction activities 6 days a week, day and night
- Construction equipment and vehicles in the area
- Noise, dust, and vibration
Construction crews are expected to work both day and night beginning as early as September and continuing through fall 2022*.
For your safety and the safety of others, stay alert and be aware of construction workers and equipment near travel lanes. Exercise caution and be prepared to stop for the temporary traffic signals. Pedestrian access in work zone areas is restricted.
Adjacent and Nearby Projects
- An adjacent Taylorsville-Bennion waterline construction project will be resurfacing the road from 2700 W to 2200 W along 5400 S.
