Would you like to share any additional information about your ranking choice?
Please bring back the tennis courts! If not that, then sand volleyball would be a fun small rec park.

I live directly behind the park and so I have a vested interest in selecting an option that, from my observation, would best fit with the actual use of the park. I think a small recreation amenity would provide the best value for the largest number of park users and preserve the valued green space and trees (if you haven't seen the park lately, it looks BEAUTIFUL as the newly open green space is cleaned up). This small amenity would avoid the problems associated with pickleball and pickleball/tennis courts: noise, conflict over use, and impact on trees. While the city has stated there haven't been any noise complaints, there will certainly be an increase if the courts are reinstalled (I will submit one). SInce the city hasn't collected any data on the use of the courts, I will share that the pickleball players who attend community meetings have greatly exaggerated their use of the courts. I've observed much more frequent use by tennis players, usually families with younger kids and younger adults. The buyers of homes in the neighborhood are trending toward younger individuals and families who would be much more likely to make use of lawn ball or horseshoes or just the beautiful open space. These families would also be very likely to use potential courts at Oak Park. Considering the rapidly aging (and fickle) pickleball player population, there will be fewer of them in two years as they age/lose interest/move on to the next fad or retirement home. It would be unfair to base this decision on the loudest and least frequent users of the park, rather than what would truly be best for the actual park goers/families, the environment, and the city budget.

You’re wasting our money. Put the courts back.

My property backs up the the park in question and I so not want pickle ball in my area. I don’t want a bunch of noise and people outside of my yard. I really don’t want pickle ball in my neighborhood.

Mt greatest concern is that trees and green space will be destroyed to put in courts that will likely experience problems in the future. The park has the potential to be even more beautiful by installing a small, budget-friendly amenity, demonstrating that Arvada is committed to our beautiful parks. Please - save the trees!

Put back the courts. You never asked for our approval to remove them.

The Davis Lane Community looks forward to working with creative city staff to find the best way to replace the courts and develop a clear, actionable plan that meets both infrastructure needs and community expectations.

I believe we can shift gears here toward a positive outcome and ultimately celebrate the grand opening of new courts at Davis Lane Park. The community is excited to collaborate with City staff to make it something special!
