* When deciding how to redraw maps, there are certain criteria that the district must consider. These include: adopting single-member districts with substantially equal population size, where the difference between the largest and smallest district must be no more than 10%; adopting compact districts which share borders; avoiding negative impact on minority voting strength, and making decisions on basis other than race whenever possible.

In addition to these mandatory criteria, the Board may consider other criteria, some of which impact AISD's ability to implement the new plan. Please consider the following potential criteria and rank them in the order of importance to you, with 1 being the most important to you and 5 being the least important to you.
