Route 17 Business Safety Improvements
Project Overview
The two proposed projects will modify the intersections of Route 17 Business at Route 628 (T.C. Walker Road) and Route 17 Business at Route 1018 (Sutton Road) in Gloucester County to enhance safety. Both projects seek to reduce the risk of crashes at the intersections by modifying access and increasing motorist sight distance.
One of the proposed projects will build an offset right turn lane by extending the existing one on Route 17 Business at T.C. Walker Road.
The other project will modify access to improve safety at the Route 17 Business and Sutton Road intersection.
Design Public Hearing: June 27, 2023
Stop by the in-person design public hearing between 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, to review proposed project plans and materials, ask questions, and offer comment.
VDOT representatives will be present to answer questions about the project in an open house format between 5-7 p.m.
