This is a preventative maintenance project for resurfacing East Hill Rd from East End Rd to Skyline Dr. This will include signing, striping, guardrail, drainage improvements and some utility upgrades/relocation.

It’s hard to say for sure, but the earliest we think the Contractor will mobilize on site would be about July 2021.
The Contractor will be given 150 days to complete the work.
Yes, there may be brief detours or partial roadway closures, but homeowner and emergency vehicle access must always be provided.
West Hill Road and Skyline Drive will provide an alternate access to the upper end of East Hill Road. It’s possible that Willow Drive or Fireweed Avenue could be used as a brief detour route if a roadway closure is necessary.
Some original construction culverts are nearly 50’ deep under the roadway and impractical to replace within the scope and funding for a pavement preservation project.
Only at one location. Typically, the width of the road is the same as the existing roadway width. The inside of the tight “switchback” curve about half way up the hill will be widened to extend pavement over the existing gravel surface within the State’s ROW.
Yes, guardrail will be removed and replaced to meet current standards. There are no plans to lengthen the existing guardrail.
We estimate the construction cost will be between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
