2022-2027 Bond Project: North New Braunfels Avenue Phase 2 (East Houston Street to Paso Hondo Street)
The Bond Project will construct roadway improvements to include sidewalks, driveway approaches, trees and irrigation, as well as joint bid utility work including valve adjustments, manhole reconstruction, and other improvements as applicable and within available funding.

What you need to know:
Progress Report: Final resurfacing to begin as early as Monday, November 10, 2025, thru Thursday, November 13, 2025. This is the last major milestone towards project completion.
The contractor will perform road work on the N. New Braunfels Ave. (Gibbs St. to E. Houston St.) corridor from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Two-way traffic will be maintained on N. New Braunfels at all times.
* Please Note: The following work was previously scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2025, but shifted due to cooler temperatures.
- Day One: N. New Braunfels east side will have a full road closure for roadway repairs, and final resurfacing at east side intersections. Two-way traffic will be diverted on to the west side lanes.
- Day Two: N. New Braunfels east side will have a full road closure for roadway resurfacing and after 4pm will be open to traffic. During road closure two-way traffic will be diverted on to the west side lanes.
- Day Three: N. New Braunfels west side will have a full road closure for roadway repairs, and final resurfacing at west side intersections. Two-way traffic will be diverted on to the east side lanes.
- Day Four: N. New Braunfels west side will have a full road closure for roadway resurfacing and after 4pm will be open to traffic. During road closure two-way traffic will be diverted on to the east side lanes.
