Winston-Salem Area TPO: Regional Impact Project Prioritization
Winston-Salem Area TPO: Regional Impact Project Prioritization
Introduction: Prioritization is a biennial process where transportation projects from each planning area compete for state and federal funding across North Carolina. Projects are funded at three levels: (1) Statewide Mobility; (2) Regional Impact; and (3) Division Needs. Statewide Mobility project selection is complete. In the Winston-Salem Area TPO, five (5) projects were picked up for funding in the 2028-2037 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
Regional Impact project selection is now underway. For this first round, known as Regional Impact Project Point Assignment, the Winston-Salem Area TPO wants to know how you would prioritize 27 regionally significant highway, rail, and transit projects across our planning area. Additional highway, rail, transit, bicycle and pedestrian, and aviation projects will be considered at the Division Needs level in the Fall.
