King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) invites you to take a survey. This survey is about the accessibility of our products, programs, services, and spaces.

WTD protects water quality and public health in the central Puget Sound region. We collect and clean wastewater for almost 2 million people. Today, WTD's service area covers much of King County. The service area extends from the north part of Pierce County up to the south part of Snohomish County.

What is an ADA Transition Plan?

WTD is developing an ADA Transition Plan. Under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), agencies such as WTD need this plan. This plan will summarize how WTD intends to address existing barriers to accessibility. It will report on the changes needed to improve access to WTD programs and services. This plan will also state a time frame for when we should make these changes to improve access.

How to visit this online open house and survey

In the survey section below, you will find descriptions of how community members may have interacted with WTD's services. If you are a community member who has interacted with the services described, please fill out the survey questions at the bottom of the section. If you have not interacted with those services, skip to the next section.

In the last section ("Tell Us About You"), you will find general questions to help us better understand and serve our diverse communities. The survey will be open until September 13, 2026.

All answers to this survey are anonymous. The data is being collected on a third-party platform that does not collect device information or track participants. You do not have to answer all questions to submit a survey.

How will you use my input?

The survey will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

WTD will use the information shared with us to help identify and prioritize steps to make our system more accessible for all people.

We will share the draft ADA Transition Plan including community member input. Community members will have an opportunity to comment on the draft plan.

Do you need assistance to take this survey?

We want to make sure everyone can access information and participate. We are using accessibility features available on this platform. We are also providing translated versions in 10 languages. We welcome you to contact us if you need additional support completing this survey.

Who can take this survey?

We welcome everyone who has experienced our products, programs, services, and spaces to take the survey. We encourage community members to share the barriers they have faced. We also welcome suggestions on how to improve experiences in the future.

We want to hear from people with disabilities. We also want to hear from people who are family, friends, and caregivers for people with disabilities. You can share your experiences and ideas for how to improve access by taking this survey.

Community members do not have to identify as a person living with a disability or as a caregiver to take the survey. People who do not identify as having a disability can also experience barriers to participation. Everyone benefits from accessibility improvements!
