Town of Amherst Pedestrian Improvements
The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Town of Amherst are working together to identify pedestrian safety improvements along three corridors within the Town. Through this planning process, the identified projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs, including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, highway safety, and others.
Background
This study is looking at pedestrian crossing improvements along 2nd Street between North Main and Washington Street, at the 29/60 roundabout, and along North Main.
This survey is intended to obtain public input on the proposed improvements along each of the corridors. Your feedback will help the project team refine the improvements and help local leaders decide whether to pursue future funding opportunities. Thank you for your input.
