Akiak Operations Summary
1/13/26
- Brice headed back to Fairbanks; Brice is planning on performing the work in the spring.
12/19/25
- Brice headed back to Fairbanks, will do fuel header adjustments after the holidays. Work to be completed somewhere around 1/3-1/5.
12/18/25
- Brice was able to get a welder to do the work in Akiak, on weather hold in Bethel today. Will attempt to get there tomorrow.
12/17/25
- Brice locating equipment and welding supplies to perform work. Tentatively scheduled to complete work by this weekend.

- DOT and Brice's welder on-site to look at the fuel heads to assess the repairs needed to move them further away from the bank. Brice’s welder is currently working on procuring supplies and seeing if he can rent a mini excavator and welder from the local village.

- UICC is mobilizing crews to Napakiak to assess and begin working on mechanical, electrical, and structural work on the school and associated structures.
- DOT&PF personnel have been made aware of possible humanitarian issues in Napaskiak and Oscarville that are being assessed.
- Today marked the first day of groundwork for Knik, focused on reshaping two boat launches and installing super sacks at three locations for riverbank stabilization.
- The three stabilization sites total approximately 800 linear feet of riverbank.
- Bank cuts at these sites average approximately ±8 feet in height.
- Knik estimates three weeks to complete this work.
