Project Highlights

NCDOT Project BR-0093 proposes to replace the bridge on U.S. 29 / U.S. 70 over W. 5th Avenue (S.R. 1192) in Lexington.  The project will remove the existing bridge and replace it with a new bridge in the existing location. 

The proposed bridge will include:

  • Two 12-foot travel lanes
  • 5-foot paved outside shoulders

During construction there will be an off-site detour route using U.S. 220, U.S. 220-Business, and Janet Road.

The bridge was constructed in 1965 and has been identified for replacement by NCDOT’s Structures Management Unit.
