Alternate Route 58 (Cummings St.) - Town of Abingdon
This study will address roadway and pedestrian safety, multimodal accessibility/connectivity (bicycle, pedestrian, and transit), and transportation demand management (TDM) needs along Alternate Route 58 (Cummings Street) from Bradley Street to the I-81 Exit 17 ramps. Study elements will include, but are not limited to, access management, turn lane improvements, traffic signal timing, intersection geometric improvements, and pedestrian improvements. The project recommendations that come from this study will be developed into funding applications for SMART SCALE Round 7.
Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia. Through this planning process, projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs, including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, interstate funding and others.
