Stratford Roundabout Project
Caltrans District 6 has initiated a safety improvement project on State Route 41 (SR 41) at the intersection of Laurel, near the community of Stratford in Kings County. This goal of this project is to enhance safety and provide a more reliable intersection for all roadway users.
Project Description
The project will install a single-lane roundabout as well as a sidewalk, crosswalks, signage and striping and streetlights at the intersection of SR 41 and Laurel Avenue/Main Street.
Purpose and Need
The primary purpose of this project is to improve safety at this location at the intersection of SR 41 and Laurel Avenue/Main Street to control vehicle and pedestrian movements through the intersection at a safer degree, especially for access to SR 41 from Laurel Avenue/Main Street.

Partnerships:
Caltrans partnered with local community organizations to host two community meetings in 2025.
Funding and Cost:
The project will be funded through SHOPP at an estimated $10.55 million.
