PublicInput Training: Comprehensive Transportation Plan
The CTP (Comprehensive Transportation Plan) is a long-term transportation plan that outlines the future plans for major highways, intersections, bus transit, passenger rail, and other transportation facilities. It informs the prioritization of projects for our region and provides important information for planners to reserve right-of-way and budget for future transportation developments.

Welcome
Transportation, Innovation, and Mobility for Everyone!
Transportation, land use, and funding are important challenges in our region. By 2045, our region will have millions more people living and working here. Our counties would like your input on three growth scenarios. Individual elements of each scenario may be combined into a final regional plan. It will take a combination of investments to move people around our region, both today and in the future. Please take a few minutes to tell us your views on the region’s future transportation system.
What is a Comprehensive Transportation Plan?
A Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) represents a community’s long-term vision for how the local transportation network should evolve to serve residents and employers in a growing region, in an effort to support anticipated community growth and development. A CTP assesses the condition of the entire transportation network and serves as the framework for transportation planning efforts at the local and regional scale.
The Comprehensive Transportation Plan or CTP is a long range plan, that was developed and is continually updated through a collaborative process among residents and town and city officials to envision future transportation needs. It contains big ideas for what is possible and is all encompassing and comprehensive. The CTP outlines future improvements for the entire transportation network, from roadways and transit to bicycle and pedestrian accommodations. It provides the foundation for what will become the transportation priorities over the next 50+ years.
