Background
This Project Pipeline study is identifying project recommendations to improve safety and operations on the U.S. 29 corridor near I-64 in Albemarle County.
A previous project, which replaced a loop ramp with a signalized left turn from U.S. 29 south to I-64 east, has caused significant traffic backups and safety concerns. This study will recommend solutions to address these issues and for improving a nearby park and ride lot.
The final recommendations will be used to apply for VDOT's SMART SCALE program and other transportation funding. This Phase 2 survey is intended to gather public input on the proposed solutions.
