Background
While a 2023 study looked at intersection improvements on a nearby section, this new Project Pipeline study focuses on access management and corridor preservation for the U.S. 29 (James Monroe Highway) corridor in Culpeper County between the Madison County line and the U.S. 29 Business (Madison Road) interchange.
The primary goal is to improve safety, especially in areas with poor sight distance, and provide recommendations for the county's Comprehensive Plan. These recommendations will be used to apply for VDOT's SMART SCALE program and other transportation funding.
This Phase 2 survey is intended to gather public input on the proposed solutions.
