5th Street - Albemarle/Charlottesville

The study area includes 5th Street from Pinehurst Court to Harris Road. This is a re-evaluation of previous studies and SMART SCALE applications to refine and value engineer solutions that will have better potential for benefits in relation to cost. The study will result in refined concepts for the next round (Round 7) of SMART SCALE.

This brief survey will provide the study team with valuable context on existing transportation issues in the corridor so that they can be analyzed and addressed in the study.

Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia. Through this planning process, projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs, including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, interstate funding and others.
